A little motivation...please!

Today, while aimlessly browsing Facebook (under the guise of waiting for people to turn in their payroll information), I came across this beauty of an ad:

In the brilliance of Mark Zuckerberg's limiting of advertising to our good friends at Microsoft, it was the only ad on the page and pretty hard to miss. Upon first glance, my thought was "Hey! This guy's pretty excited about just having his eyes dilated." (I must admit that I didn't even take note of the ad's attempt to cater to Gen Y's insatiable need for play.) But then my next thought wasn't so benign. All I saw were the words "Hit the Beach," as a physique-challenged individual was attempting to...flex? I don't know. True confessions: I can count on three fingers how many times I've exercised since May. And this ad struck fear into my heart of what my near future could be. Never mind cardiovascular health, all I could think of were Relief Society arms.

So, in the ensuing hours of work, I have resolved to take a new stab at my life--somewhat in preparation for upcoming "events" and somewhat out of sheer self-respect. So, as a proclamation to my admittedly very small social network reading this: I aim to quell my complacency in all things physical this 4th Quarter of the year. Mark my words: No soft edges. No droopy triceps. No retracted tone. I feel a new connection with the bionic woman within.

As with any SMART goal (and since I make SO many), I am putting specs on this proclamation: here, or here or maybe here. And thus, making myself accountable to YOU (and anyone wishing to join me). Furthermore, my fabulous fiancee (that is still so surreal!) gave me an Nike+iPod for my birthday...or is it iPod+Nike?... Whatever it is, I have yet to use it. So, my specs continue here, here and here. Also, I am taking comments, suggestions and adulations here.

I feel revitalized like I haven't in months.

However...I just missed my Body Combat class to write this post.

We're off to a good start.
