Well, recently, Aaron and I reached the end of this probationary period in our marriage, and I am happy to report that we still like each other...very much. There will be no termination of employment. Additionally, I would like to share a few of our experiences and impart of my welling "wisdom." (I know I'll be preaching a little to the choir...)
Experience #1: Honeymoon on St. Martin Island
Synopsis: Beautiful. Relaxing. Perfect.
Words of Wisdom: When in France do as the French do--or something like that.
Experience #2: Job Hunting and B-school Pitching
Synopsis: Kinda, sorta, maybe, kinda not.
Words of Wisdom: Don't fret about spilt milk; you never know what flavor of custard is waiting for you around the corner. In our case it was coconut. (If you're confused, read our previous post.)
Experience #3: Three Square Meals [a Week]
Synopsis: Thrice-weekly cooking for a husband. Smile on his face. Extra chin on mine.
Words of Wisdom: Props to all the single parents out there. I have no idea how you do it...
Experience #4: Women are from Venus
Synopsis: Artificially green St. Patty's meal. Little recognition. Emotional breakdown.
Words of Wisdom: It's futile to pout when your color-blind husband literally doesn't recognize your creative efforts.

Experience #5: Communication is King
Synopsis: Talk. Listen. Or not.
Words of Wisdom: If you think your husband knows you're going to be gone for three hours doing visiting teaching--double check---triple check--or come home to this:
I can't wait for the next 90 days! :)

Ok, this is absolutely hilarious. Looks like the honeymoon was AMAZING! You guys are a very handsome couple. What fun you must have!
Oh man, Andi. That made me laugh. Well said! Is he really color blind? You did know this before you married him, right? Seriously, so jealous you're headed to Africa. And St. Martin! Spoiled (and deserving... although, I guess that doesn't mean spoiled... it just means you deserved it. Did that make any sense?)
Andi, you are HILARIOUS!! I love this post. I didn't know that you went to St. Martin on your honeymoon- what a dream! I love your lessons-learned during the first 3 months of marriage- something we can ALL relate to . .
I'm impressed with the fact that you have a lovely table cloth on the table for......what was that......
a cheese stick and toast?
Also, I'm sure your man was so impressed with your perky, perfect looking loaf of bread that it wouldn't matter what color it was! (Just don't let him determine weather or not the hotdogs are too old to give to the kids!!)
Probationary Periods could go a long way now a days - too bad it doesn't matter once you are eternally bound!! :)
Keep these posts coming - they take me back ten years!! What great times.
What a fun, creative post! I absolutely loved it! The color blind story seriously cracks me up each time I think about it. And I really can't believe it's already been 3 months. Holy smokes does time fly!
