Technology (or lack thereof...)

Jambo!

It's amazing to me that I can be in a third world country and still be able to connect to the Internet. Unfortunately, it's still third world Internet. I tried--unsuccessfully, as I'm sure you've noticed--to upload a slide show in the post below. The only thing that actually made it on the blog was the opening slide. Sorry for the teaser... But hopefully the real deal won't disappoint. I tried again yesterday to upload it with my new Internet connection--and come to find out the new connection is a disappointing second world connection. My computer was working so hard it just about melted in my lap--and it still didn't upload. So. I will edit the post as soon as I have a substantial Internet connection.

But, by way of other updates:

Click here if you want the full version. I had a lot to say and once I started typing I couldn't stop. Because it's so long, I decided to try uploading my doc to scribd.com. I hope it works. If not, post a comment and let me know.

For those of you who don't want the full version, I'll hopefully be posting pictures soon. I can't believe it's already been a week...but at the same time I can't believe it's only been a week. We're adjusting--well to some things, and slowly to others. We're really excited about the opportunities we have here. Hopefully I'll be able to keep you updated in a way that reflects what this place is like--and that will be interesting to you.

Until next time... Kwaherini!

You made it! So glad to hear that you've made it safely. I tried to click on the full version of your post, but couldn't get anything to pull up . . But I am still interested in hearing details! (And pics of course- hopefully you will find internet connection that will allow you to do that soon.) I miss you at the temple along with all the sweet ladies that come through the line regularly. Robyn White and her little old lady friend (I have never known her name, I should learn that- I only know Robyn's because she always claims the last Taco saladÜ) just about fell over when I told them what you are up to. They send you their best.

Love ya!
