Measles Campaign

As I wrote about a few posts ago, Aaron and I were invited to help a senior missionary couple (Elder and Sister Ogborn) in their efforts in the Measles Campaign 2009 in Kenya. I've posted some clips from my nifty-difty Flip Mino that I finally [four months later] received via personal courier service! (Thanks, Em!)

If pictures say a thousand words...then videos sing a thousand musicals. Hopefully you can get a better feel for what an amazing place this is.

The measles vaccinations were free to all children between the ages of 9 months and five years.

This is the little jingle that the Church used to promote the campaign.

This is the recording session (aka miracle) where the children were recorded.
That recording then was played on all of the local radio stations.

The Ogborns said that the health officials are claiming that 90% of eligible children in the Coastal area (where we are) have been vaccinated. I would say that's a pretty good success rate. It's amazing the miracles that God can work through our simple, yet sincere, efforts. Good work, Ogborns!

That is so awesome. I am jealous of the amazing experience you guys are having. Joe say's that your dream was a premonition if you were in Cambodia, but I think it was just a dream. Although our neighbors house is for sale here in Bountiful.
