It throbbed.
And I was awake, dang it--wide awake.
As I lay there, trying to get back to that sleep that I was not ready to give up for at least another hour, it started to drizzle outside. And within a matter of seconds, we had a full-on monsoon out our window. "I wonder if we're going to be able to make it to work on time," I thought. And then I was promptly able to fall back asleep.
Well, we didn't. Fast forward two hours and you will see why:

[OK, I've tried and tried to upload a video of our drive into work, but the Internet refuses to cooperate. So...this is a snapshot of that movie.]
They say, it's El Nino.
I say, wasn't El Nino the rage in the 90's?
Apparently I haven't been keeping up on my meteorology.

Post Edit: I wrote this post 3 days ago, and since that time, I have seen rain like I've never seen in my life. Just yesterday it washed out an entire bridge and displaced about 2,000 people. Crazy stuff, I tell you!

WOW I hardly even recognize that street! I didn't even know they got rain like that there! Which bridge washed out?
Abby! Hi! How are you? I've been meaning to write you. This is the street between Nakumatt and Kongowea. It was nuts! The bridge between Mombasa and Malindi washed out. I saw a picture of it in the newspaper and it was totally gone. People here aren't sure if it's a blessing or a continual curse from the "evil" of last year's violence... Not sure myself!
I'm great! Just really really busy. I had more than one person tell me the second year of business school is much easier - lies! But I'm happy. No major updates to report yet, but life is good. :) I just can't believe all that rain!
