Homeward Bound

Friends,

I have so much to say, and so much to express, and so much to feel, and so much to think about, and so much to arrange for, and so much to stress about, and so much to be happy about, and so much to miss, and so much to anticipate, and so much to be grateful for that my brain is short-circuiting. It's kind of acting like my computer--go, go, go, act funny, FREEZE, shut-down, reboot, repeat.

In short: Aaron and I are leaving Kenya. Tomorrow.

Ah! I have such mixed emotions about it all! This has been such an amazing and life-changing experience, and it's difficult to reduce to words. Someday I'll try. But not today.

We're leaving at 6:00 am tomorrow morning from Mombasa and won't be in Utah until May 9th. (We're taking the long way home.)

We'll be there for about two weeks...and then we're off. Again.

Aaron has been accepted to Notre Dame's one-year MBA program. And he starts on May 24th! So...we'll get home, wash our clothes in the Maytag (I can hardly wait!!!), get full physicals, say hello/good-bye, pack-up and head off again for another crazy adventure.

Somewhere along the way, I'm sure I'll remember to breathe. I'm just not sure where I'll be able to fit that in. But no big deal. I think oxygen's overrated anyway.

I want to apologize to all of you who feel like we're a little bit neglectful. Between insane schedules and insanely frustrating Internet connections, this is as good as I can give at the moment. I apologize upfront for the infirmities of my mortality.

Someday I'll connect the dots. There are some great stories to be told. But, in the meantime. I want to say sianara, hasta luego, na shledanou, ciao, and kwaheri until we meet again in a far off place.

You'll have plenty of time to catch us up on the stories after you get back and finally get settled. And then you'll be glad for the excuse to bring it all to mind again.

Safe travels! And congrats to Aaron! Maybe I'll see you in the mad rush before you land in South Bend. :)

I hope I get to see you in the two weeks you are home. If not I'll have to fly to Indiana to see you. That's a place I can afford to visit. :)

We should all get together before you are gone again. I have so enjoyed reading about your Kenyan adventures via blog.

Good luck and we'll chat soon!

You're home!!! Two weeks is going to feel like a whirlwind and you had so much family to catch up with- I realize this. BUT, we would love to see you guys if you happen to have a spare minute or two. We can come to you. Lemme know. Hope you made it back safe and sound. If we don't get to see you, best of luck in Notre Dame.
