Bricolage

So somewhere between March and April I lost my attention span.

And I can't seem to find it.

OK, fine, I'll come clean:

It was somewhere between September and April.

And I am missing it.

I feel like my brain is mimicking the blue genie on Disney's Aladdin,

Responding to every passing rub of the neural lamp:

Poof!  What do you need?

Poof!  What do you need?

Poof!  What do you need?

And my attention is off, like a flying carpet.

Is there such thing as delayed onset of ADD?

But...on the one hand, I've discovered a whole new world (horrible pun, yes, I know) of interesting things in the vast geography of the Internet.

Perhaps it might prove to be somewhat interesting and/or useful (mayyybe?) to someone out there.

The first thing on the docket is not actually something I recently came across, but more like something I recently remembered.

My sister-in-law recently posted about how she's going mad with cabin fever because they still have three feet of snow in the wilderness where she and my brother live.  Her 18-month old daughter has more energy than their double wide can sometimes handle.  And then I thought, this girl needs Readeo.

A good friend of my husband started Readeo and I think the idea is fabulous.  It's a way for families (which can be as tightly knit or as loosely connected as you desire) to connect through reading children's books online.  It's kind of like e-learning for kiddies.  It's where Skype intersects with the good ol' traditional storytime.

I've never actually had the chance to use it, but I've heard rave reviews about it.  If I had kids, I'm pretty sure I'd sign up for this so that Nan and Gramps (aka my parents), who live four hours away by airplane, could read stories to them.

You should check it out.

Secondly, I'm seriously coveting these bowls and mugs from West Elm.  Please, if you have a few spare bucks, buy these in honor of those of us who currently don't have a few spare bucks.  By the time we pay off this student loan, I'm pretty sure I won't think they're as cute.

But...you can never be too sure.

They just might hold their style for half a century.

In the meantime, I just enjoy wistfully staring at these:

Thirdly, in honor of all things Africa and in sending serious Spring vibes to Mother Nature, this:

And finally, I think I wish I would have come across something like this about 2 1/2 years ago, while planning my wedding.

Find Here.

I perhaps would have gone vintage glam with the bridesmaids' dresses. These are even the perfect color.

Oh well. I'll live vicariously through my sister, whom I've already convinced that she needs fascinators in her wedding scheme.  Like this:

Photo Here.

Now...if someone could please just expedite an eligible bachelor her way.

And there, ladies and gents, you have the fruits borne of the absence of my attention span.  Perhaps someday I will finish one of the three books I've started and maybe write and insightful thought or two about them.

But I wouldn't hold your breath.

Um... you almost owe me 24.00. That's how much the bowls cost me. Lucky for you, they're out of stock and won't ship until July... and I'm far too impatient for that. So now I have to go the store tomorrow and see if they have them in.
That is NOT a good influence Andi. Not at all.
I love those bowls so very much.
