She Who Wears the Pants

So, well, I did it:

I ponied up the $13 bucks (plus shipping--I hate shipping!) needed to buy my first pair of maternity pants...or...rather...capris. (It's summer, you know.)

You might, at this point, be wishing you could give me the proverbial pat on the back for scoring such an awesome deal.

But, let me just add to my candor:

They were originally $60.

(For all you ladies out there sporting a bump these days, if you love Ann Taylor LOFT, you might just squeal to find out they actually offer a pretty rockin maternity line. With even more rockin deals.)

So, I made the online purchase, waited the three or so business days, and badda bing, badda boom, LOFT capris with the pregnant panel at my doorstep!

I was excited.

Pants held together by rubber bands and safety pins can offer only so much comfort, and for a limited time only.

And my lease is about up.

My sweetest, most thoughtful (read: willingly coerced) husband, ironed my new duds one morning and I wore them to work for the first time this week.

And despite the extreme comfort that I was experiencing around my mid section,

I really couldn't help but feeling like this, all. day. long.

Yes, my friends, I felt like a Tweedle.

A rightfully bulging one.

But that,

That,

Is the beauty of pregnancy.
