It's a Sunday evening and I'm kind of killing time because...well...I just feel like it. Later on this evening, I am going to the 13th Ward's First (and probably last) Annual Pietober. It's somewhat reminicent of high school days when all us poor kids would pool our pennies and buy two, maybe three, pies from Marie Callender's pie sale and gather at the Wyss's for our semiannual Pie Fest--affectionatly referred to as either "Piebruary" or "Pietober." (A phrase coined by the infamous Nellie Ashby.) Today my committee and I will pretty much blow the Ward Prayer's budget for the rest of the year as we bought (and will subsequently eat) 10 pies. It looks like we'll be chewing on Tootsie Rolls for the rest of the year after Ward Prayer, but it will be oh so worth it! (I'm just not sure how to tactfully tell one of my committee members that the Kahlua Cream pie she so dutifully purchased yesterday is, ahem, coffee flavored. Should be interesting...)
Speaking of fattening foods...I bought my wedding dress! I must make yet another honest confession here: it's not just the Church's money that I'm blowing. I spent quite a bit more than I was planning... But, (if this is justification--which, I'm sure, if you asked any starving community in Africa is not) I REALLY like it. For the sake of tradition, I will not post a picture of it here--I wouldn't want a certain man to have a premature look at it. But, I bought it at the cutest little shop on South Temple in Salt Lake City. I drive by it every Sunday on my way to Church and see the dresses displayed in the window. I have always wanted to stop by. So I finally did. It was really fun. The dress is from a company called Pronovias. So, if you want to get an idea (or several) of what it looks like...visit the site.

Ah, Pietober. What a great way to blow a budget.
CONGRATULATIONS on the dress!!! I really want to see it. I'll know by the end of this week if I'll be able to come for the wedding, so I'll call you and let you know.
Hope the wedding plans are going well!
