And she did.
Not so long ago, there was this lady who had an idea of how things should be in society. She was perhaps one of the most thoughtful, intelligent and kind-hearted I've ever met. She was. And she still is.
She has set out to change the world.
And she will.
I know this lady by chance. (But then, again, I don't completely believe in chance.) We are friends by choice.
Meet my friend Nix:
I like to call her H2Dou, but that's another story for another time.
She's trilingual.
She kicks a soccer ball like you've never seen.
She's an advocate for world peace.
She's great with children.
And she's got the most wicked playlist that mysteriously appears in your iTunes--if you're lucky.
I know a lot of single guys out there that would dig Nix. (I've even known a few to throw marriage proposals her way.) But, contrary to what you might think, I am not playing matchmaker.
Nix has this great idea. And I want to tell my small little world about it.
Nix knows a lot of facts. A lot. Of facts. She's brilliant like that.
She knows stuff like:
- Americans use 1,500 plastic bottles every second
- In a year, Americans send so many plastic bottles to landfills that, if laid end to end, it would be enough to go to the moon and back 10 times
- Only 23% of all plastic bottles get recycled
- That 90% of ocean trash is plastic
- And that plastic doesn't actually get recycled, it gets downcycled (it loses volume and quality so that one trashed plastic bottle never becomes another new plastic bottle)
Right.
So Nix and some of her other cool friends have set out to change the world.
Meet 3r. (You can meet her here.)
3r is the bottled water of the future. She has an environmental and social conscience. She offers people like you and me a better alternative without sacrificing convenience. It's that same thirst-quenching goodness with a warm fuzzy attached.
Que bueno, no?
Thought you'd think so.
That one lady? From long ago? She once said:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
Go Nix!
