Project Plenty 2010

Last year I lamented over the fact that often times Thanksgiving is passed over as nothing more than a huge meal on the eve of some great shopping.  For the purpose of evoking a greater sense of gratitude within my heart, I made an effort last year to pick out five things every day that I felt especially grateful for, and couple it with a quote on giving thanks.  I then posted these things each day on my "Project Plenty '09" blog.  It was a great exercise for my humility.

This year, I have felt to do something similar.  Although, I wish to be more specific in my expressions of gratitude.  And so, this season, I am writing open letters of gratitude.

I think sometimes to publicly express something we feel to be true confirms it, deepens it, and engraves it within our souls.  Why not with gratitude?  I also was greatly inspired by this talk.

So, since I generally sit in an office alone for most of the day, I figure that "public" can mean anyone who sits at their computer and finds themselves curious as to my thoughts for the day.  (Why, I'm not sure...sometimes those thoughts border on sporadic neurosis.)  But, if you are one such person, I invite you to click here or on my "Project Plenty '09" link just under the title of this blog.  (Yes, I know it's '10, but unfortunately, when my computer died, it took all of my graphic editing programs with it.  I'll see what I can do about making an update...)

Hopefully my thoughts will evoke a little more gratitude in your heart, too.

Happy Wednesday!
