And perhaps to the embarrassment (the good kind)
Of the man I love,
That I'm
Really
Truly
Super
Proud.
Bursting, really,
With well-pleasedness.
As some of you might know, it's been a long and winding road to find permanent employment.
Admittedly, not as long as some.
And, admittedly, sprinkled with adventurous diversions
That have in actuality,
Fulfilled life-long dreams.
It's funny how that works.
Wouldn't you agree?
But, as he's rounded the bend to his final stretch, his pace really hasn't let up.
We know there's a finish line out there somewhere.
We're hoping it's the one that we can see,
But if not,
I'm still proud.
Or well-pleased.
Or whatever the righteous version of pride is.
He's done well.
And, in my experience,
All ends well that is well.
So whatever is the actual finish line,
And whenever we find it behind us,
I think I'll heave a heavy sigh of relief
And offer yet another prayer of gratitude for the life lived along the way,
And the man I get to share it with.

I can't wait to hear what this possible (crossing fingers) opportunity is! And kudos to you guys - the road of unemployment is a really rough one and you've faced it with perseverance and such great attitudes. Hoping all turns out for the positive!
