Happy Birthday to Me

For those of you whose RBG settings may not be working,

That's blue butter cream icing you see in the middle of that cake.

Something I didn't know

Until I cut it.

Aaron's beyond ecstatic.

And I'm getting there, too.

I am, in no way, sad to have a boy.

I just really, truly thought it would be a girl,

For reasons beyond the "6-months pregnant instinct."

But

Sometimes,

It works that way:

When you're expecting raspberry cream filling,

Life hands you blue.

And while it's shocking

And maybe bewildering at first,

They say it all makes sense in the end.

Besides,

This baby will have several cousins,

Cousins-once-removed,

And otherwise close buddies

Who are all boys.

As my uncle put it,

A member of a club of our own Stripling Warriors.

So,

In the midst of the paradigm shifting,

I am looking forward to truly begin

The dreaming

The scheming

The (name) debating

and

The shopping.

Happy Pre-Birthday to my little boy!

Super fun idea! That must have made your birthday a billion times more exciting! SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!! I love having my oldest be a boy....he is such a great little protector for the girls. And it will only take you a second to fall completely head over heals for him! And happy belated birthday!

I love it! I know people keep saying this, but boys really are so much fun. Love the stripling warrior comment...I was actually just thinking how 19 years from now the world better watch out.

And, while I would like to say that the other day I was calling to wish you an early happy birthday or something, it was in fact Addie.

Oh..... There it is. The gender post! :)

I need to keep up with blogging a little bit better!

Congratulations! You have someone to carry on the family name. Which is more than I can say.

(btw. I hear boys are easier to raise) (less drama) (which I could really go for right about now)

By The Way.....

I like the name Ryker. Or Strider.

Ha Ha Ha

(you know that I did marry a sarcastic man. It's wearing off on me. Just in case you questioned.)
