For those of you who don't know, in the Czech Republic (and probably other nations in the EU as well), the week ends on Sunday and begins on Monday.
I'm not sure why. That's just how it is.
So, really, in some parts of the world, the weekend is just now coming to a close.
And,
In short,
In my part of the world,
It's been...eventful.
It started with waking up to a missing car.
The skid marks on the street gave a pretty good indication that
It was towed.
$130 later, we bailed it out of jail.
Black Beauty was a naughty girl and had parked without a permit.
Tsk. Tsk.
It then went on to include a 45 minute drive to a 5 minute Dr.'s appointment.
That's some East Coast lovin' right there.
But don't worry,
Lunch with the long-time friend redeemed the journey.
Then there was the late-night run to Corner Bakery,
The plain-clothes cops surveiling our building and asking us about our next door neighbor
(But don't worry, it's only a small warrant...[!] ),
And then an oldie, but goodie DVD.
Then the next morning there was the frenzied rush
Back to the same Dr.'s office for a birthing class.
Where, due to the fact that we had been "waitlisted,"
We not only arrived late, but didn't get the memo of what to bring.
The judgement passed was probably only partially wrong.
There was a classic oh-my-heck-you-look-like-an-olive-on-a-toothpick remark,
Shortly followed by the birthing video.
Then there was the heart-wrenching pathetic-ness that was the Notre Dame v. USC game,
With a little bit of homework on the side.
And then church,
My first unsolicited belly rubbing
(I'm pretty sure she'll have loads of good luck this week),
A walk in the woods,
And dinner at the house of some new-found friends.
(We're up to three weeks here and due to the generosity of our ward, I have yet to cook Sunday dinner. We're only slightly curious if we've become an objective ward service project. So far the food and company have been fabulous. So no protesting here.)
Finished off by an Internet browse for baby names (yes, we're that desperate),
A phone call with GG,
And a husband wiped out on the couch.
Like I said,
An eventful weekend.
Too bad it's now over.
Until next time,
Tschuss!
